GROUP LESSONS
Children learn to swim, be fit, and stay safe in a fun environment that promotes achieving a personal best and celebrates personal success. The program teaches competitive and survival strokes, as well as increasing the distance and speed that each swimmer can achieve, while focusing on making safe decisions in, on and around water and teaching water safety that can last a lifetime.
Our swim lessons are provided in the mornings Monday to Friday, with some lessons being 30 minutes and the higher levels consisting of 45 minute lessons. We limit the size of the classes to make sure that all kids are being provided enough attention from the lifeguard.
Session Dates:
Up to two Group Lesson sessions per child can be included with your membership at a discounted rate, additional lessons can be purchased at a member rate and lessons are available to non-members at regular price.

Bronze Star: this course develops swimming proficiency, lifesaving skill and personal fitness. Candidates refine their stroke mechanics, acquire self rescue skills, and apply fitness principles in training workouts. Bronze Star is excellent preparation for success in Bronze Medallion and provides a fun introduction to lifesaving sport.

Cost: $90/student (member price), $100 non member price

Bronze Medallion: Challenges the candidate both mentally and physically - Judgement, knowledge, skill and fitness - the four components of water rescue. - form the basis of Bronze Medallion training. Candidates acquire the assessment and problem-solving skills needed to make good decisions in, on and around the water. Bronze Medallion is a pre-requisite for assistant lifeguard training in Bronze Cross.
Prerequisite: Minimum 13 years of age or Bronze Star certification (need not be current).
Emergency First Aid: Emergency First Aid provides of an overview of First Aid and CPR skills. Includes the latest first aid and CPR guidelines. It is the required First Aid course to take the Bronze Cross Course in the future. Course meets legislation requirements for provincial/territorial worker safety and insurance boards.

Cost: $190/student if member, $200 non member student.
Need a minimum of 8 participants to run the course.
Includes testing fee for both courses, workbook and manual. Must be prepaid by June 20th so that we can order materials. If you do not require the manual please advise and we will adjust your cost otherwise when registering you will be responsible for the cost.

Bronze Cross: Begins the transition from lifesaving to lifeguarding and prepares candidates for responsibilities as assistant lifeguards. Candidates strengthen and expand their lifesaving skills and begin to apply the principles and techniques of active surveillance in aquatic facilities. Bronze Cross emphasizes the importance of teamwork and communication in preventing and responding to aquatic emergencies. Bronze Cross is a pre-requisite for advanced training in the National Lifeguard nad leadership certification programs.

This program ensures that children become comfortable in the water. For parent and tot a guardian must be in the water with the child. As the child progresses to the remainder of the preschool program level they do not need to be accompanied by an adult.
Preschool Program has 3 levels for parent and tot and 5 levels for children 3-5 years old.
Geared towards children 5+ or children who have finished all pre-school levels. Progresses from beginning swimmers to swimmers working on strokes and skills.
Swimmer Program (Level 1-6) The swimmer program has 6 levels for children at least 5 years old or kids that have finished the preschool classes.
3 Levels that focus on enriched training of improving stroke development and endurance, with an emphasis on WaterSmart behavior such as CPR, injury treatment and lifesaving skills.
Swim Patrol (Level 7-9): enriched training with emphasis on Water Smart behavior such as CPR, victims of shock, lifesaving skills.
This program enhances fitness,stokes, and lifesaving skills in a fun environment. For members who are between 12-16, or younger if they have completed all swim levels of Red Cross or Lifesaving Society Swim Patrol levels. Will run on a drop in basis from 4:30-5:15 Monday to Friday.
Junior Lifeguard Program: For swimmers 11-16 who have completed lesson levels, aged out of swim lessons or want to start training for lifeguarding. It also will be available for kids who are younger who have finished all Swim Lesson levels in Red Cross or Lifesaving Society.
