The summer of 2025 saw a tragic spike in water-related fatalities across Ontario, with dozens of drownings reported in lakes, rivers, and beaches. Woodcrest wants to help.
Woodcrest Pool is proud to have the support of Canadian Tire's Jump Start program for 2026. With their support, we are able to offer basic training for newcomers to Canada and low income families at no cost up to $150 off the regular cost of group swim lessons.
Skill Training:
ROLL into deep water to simulate a fall, then orient yourself at the surface
TREAD water for one minute to support yourself at the surface as you locate the nearest point of safety
SWIM 50 metres to the nearest point of safety

** Please note our facility has a 4" stair to get in to change rooms / bathroom and does not have a ramp into the pool. We have stair and ladder entry only. Shallow end is 3' deep. Please contact us to discuss if this program is right for your child.
